Like Jesus, Moses was nearly killed as an infant by an evil king. It was by the faith of Moses' parents Amram and Jochebed that his life was spared. How can we learn from them to fear God and not man?
“By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they were not afraid of the king's edict” (Hebrews 11:23).

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." The second is this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." There is no other commandment greater than these'" (Mark 12:29–31).

God expects His people to bear fruit in keeping with His character, but that’s not what Jesus found during His ministry. Why did Jesus curse a fig tree over it, and how can we abide in Him to bear godly fruit today?
"And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs" (Mark 11:13).

Ash Wednesday starts the Lent season, the forty days leading up to Easter Sunday. To understand the Good News of Jesus Christ, we must remember the bad news about us. How can Ash Wednesday help us fix our eyes on Jesus?
"Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life" (Romans 6:3–4).

Sunday Feb 27, 2022

Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus discerned what was not evident to the natural eyes of human beings. He knew of deeper spiritual realities, and He addressed them. He called His disciples to discern them and address them by prayerful reliance upon God. Can we walk this way in Holy Spirit?
"And Jesus said to him, '"If you can"! All things are possible for one who believes.' Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, 'I believe; help my unbelief!'” (Mark 9:23–14).
