James the Brother of Jesus | 1 Corinthians 15:3–8

James had a really interesting journey with his older brother.  We’re going to learn today that James was not a believer in Jesus early on in Jesus’ ministry.  In fact, he may not have embraced the truth about his brother until Jesus had risen from the dead.  But whenever he chose to trust and follow his big brother Jesus as the Christ and his Lord, we know that he did – and we know that he served his brother unto death.

Thomas | John 20:28

Mary of Bethany | John 11:5

Not So With You | Luke 22:24–27

If you’ve decided to follow Jesus, your life will be different from the world. There is no such thing as a follower of Jesus who is not being transformed by the Holy Spirit into the likeness of Christ. That doesn’t mean Christ-followers are perfect, but it means that God is actively working within our lives to make us better—more like Jesus—throughout our lives.

Peter | Luke 5:8

Peter was an ordinary person, simply trying to build his life and support his family, when he met Jesus. He spoke quickly, acted brashly, and often learned lessons the hard way; but he loved Jesus—imperfectly, but intensely—and God used him to change the world.
